James Beach, MLA

James Beach is the Senior Program Director for Student Affairs at the University of Florida College of Pharmacy, Orlando campus. He has held the role since 2019, and his work sits at the intersection of student support, program design, and institutional operations. He builds the things students rely on but rarely see: orientation experiences, leadership pipelines, policy navigation, and the kind of behind-the-scenes infrastructure that lets pharmacy students focus on becoming pharmacists.

Before UF, James held leadership roles at Queens University of Charlotte, first as Assistant Dean and Director of Student Services for the Presbyterian School of Nursing, then as Assistant Dean and Director of Operations for the College of Arts and Sciences. He holds dual Bachelor of Arts degrees and a Master of Liberal Arts from Winthrop University, along with a certification in Higher Education Law and Policy from NASPA.

His expertise spans orientation and transition programming, higher education policy, and student identity development. But the throughline of his career is simpler than any title suggests: he shows up for students, builds things that work, and makes institutional systems feel human.
